Past to the back

by GSeven330 ·

A couple of things for ya today:

Wil Wheaton went to the 2004 Los Angeles Auto Show. But somehow, I got a glimpse of my future….

“So where should we start?” I said. My answer came in the form of Nolan running toward the biggest SUV I’ve ever seen. Seriously. It was a few feet shorter than a Star Destroyer.

I caught up with him as he climbed into the back seat.

“Wil! Look at how much room there is in here!” He said as he bounced and extended his legs to barely touch the back of the seat ahead of him.

“Yeah, but the power to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of The Force.” I reminded him.

He looked at me with a furrowed brow. “What?”

“Sorry,” I said, “I was having a nerd moment.”

“Oh, good. I hope we can have lots of those today.” He said, dryly.

“I find your lack of faith disturbing.” I said, and twitched my fingers.

He shook his head and laughed, “Whatever, Wil . . . “

Also today, the triumphant return of The Friday Five

Insane Ninja Child
Which Survivor of the Impending Nuclear Apocalypse Are You?
A Rum and Monkey joint.

Haha! Top that! Actually, I guess since I have absolutely no idea what the other results are I shouldn’t be so cocky. Everyone will probably get Optimus Prime or something….

Next Rest Stop 87 Days

by GSeven330 ·

Amazingly enough, I think this break from school actually has helped my sanity. Things have calmed down at work, I have my evenings free to watch movies & spend time with the wife, I’ve even had some time to play video games and read some blogs!

However, I am fairly certain this is a just a rest-stop on my road trip to dementia. Things are bound to pick up here at work after the holidays and of course I will eventually have to start going to class again. I also have this nagging feeling I should be accomplishing something with this free-time I’d been hearing so much about. I haven’t quite decided what exactly is worthy of this free-time……..

Anyway, I do have a few irons in the fire here and hope to unveil some neat web tricks soonish…. but you’ll just have to stay tuned to learn what they are…..

BTW, this T-Shirt appeals to me on so many levels….I think I have to have one…..or six…..

Who needs a new leaf?

by GSeven330 ·

Wow…..does anyone else think that it seems way too soon for 2004? Of course, I might just be feeling nostalgic due to the fact I received an invitation to my 10 year High School Reunion! What I think is funny is that it’s not being almost 28 that I mind…but the idea that I’ve been an “adult” for a whole decade….

You may have noticed that there’s no picture on the left…..that’s because there was no Digital Camera under the Christmas Tree this year….so, I Accuse My Parents….

Raven & I did get some good old $$$ however, and we are thinking about combining our loot to get a fancy-pants camera. The only problem is that it’s still a bit more loot than we have. Ugh.

As far as resolutions go, I don’t know if I’m going to have any this year. I’ll probably just keep plodding along as usual, and maybe get myself one of those 4-year degree thingies. Then we can talk about resolutions……

Midnight Madness!

by GSeven330 ·

Yes indeed. The King has returned! Raven, Lala & her husband Dave, Wade, Stephen, Amanda, Ben, my Mom & Dad, and I all went to the 12:01am showing on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. And it was good.

I’m not really sure what else to say about it. If you liked the first two movies you’ll like this one, if you didn’t like the first two movies there’s probably a better way for you to spend 3 hours and 20 minutes of your life. However, I really liked it and can’t wait to see it again and better yet see the whole trilogy with extended scenes and all some ambitious weekend……

Other than that, I have one more class tonight before I get a whole month off of school. This would again be more exciting if I didn’t still have to work the majority of that time…….However, Raven and I are fleeing the Twin Cities for a week, and we intend to do a little bit of skiing and a whole lotta relaxing!

Finally, File this under Better Late Than Never…..the Friday Five:

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?

Yes I truly do. I don’t know if it’s just the Winter Holidays, or just the Skiing, or both. I am a native Minnesotan however, so I think after a few days of cold weather my blood just thickens or something. I also don’t like hot weather. You can always put another log on the fire or sleep under another blanket….

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?

Well, my parents bought some Time-Share at Breezy Point Resort back in the 80s. Our family has spent nearly every Christmas since up in good ole Unit 502. Of course, nowadays I’d need to be with my lovely wife to really appreciate the season.

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?

Let’s see. I guess I would have to say… Reading: Peef: The Christmas Bear & Watching: The Muppets Christmas Carol.

Hmm, that doesn’t seem like a very long list….tell ya what, I’ll take notes this year and post afterwords what we did….

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?

Sadly, no. I guess it has to do with the fact that I am always strapped for cash, and that I spend other times of the year volunteering. Christmas is like my one true zone out and do nothing king of holiday.

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?

If I don’t get a Digital Camera this year I am disowning my family.
