Above you see a little shout-out to my LJ peeps, and below is the New Years meme that everyone’s all jazzed about….. 1. What did you do in 2005 that you’d never done before? Won a trip to Los Angeles to see U2. 2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I think I did about 50 percent. I am excercising more, though only for the last couple of months. I managed to finish The Dark Tower before reading the new Harry Potter. I do not have braces or an insulin pump but I have appointments scheduled for both and I am armed with a Flex-Spending account to acquire them! And we’re not ready to move and I haven’t gotten anywhere near my posts goal….but by this time next year…. 3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope. Too many geeky friends I guess. 4. Did anyone close to you die? No. Thankfully. 5. What countries did you visit? None. But we got to go to L.A. and there’s a trip to France on the books for this coming September! 6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? I’ll settle for the braces and the insulin pump. 7. What date(s) from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? I’m not big on dates. 8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Finally got a full-time job with benefits that don’t suck! 9. What was your biggest failure? Not living up to my own expectations. 10. Did you suffer any illness or injury? This year’s theme was esophageal tear. Coming to DVD this spring. 11. What was the best thing you bought? My Wife’s Bride of Frankenstein Dress
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? I think I will single out The Seamster. For listening to me ramble on about my problems while still facing overwhelming problems of his own, and never failing to be the upbeat and positive person he is. 13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? They know who they are. 14. Where did most of your money go? The usual jackals and creditors. With a surprising amount also being spent on beer, for which I completely blame the Fab Five. 15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Batman Begins, My New Job, and Winning our trip to Los Angeles. 16. What song will always remind you of 2005? Tear You Apart – She Wants Revenge 17. Compared to this time last year, are you: i. happier or sadder? about the same ii. thinner or fatter? fatter iii. richer or poorer? about the same 18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Skiing, Reading, and Acting 19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Fretted over things beyond my control. 20. How did you spend Christmas? Stayed home with the wife and cats and did pretty much nothing all day. 21. Did you fall in love in 2005? No, I’ve been good in that department for going on seven years now….. 22. How many one-night stands? They’re all one-night stands…. they’re just with the same woman…. 23. What was your favorite TV program? My Name is Earl & The Office 24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? No. I don’t hate anyone. I do wish I could vote a few people off the island though. 25. What was the best book you read? I think I’ll go with Song of Susannah 26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Zeromancer 27. What did you want to get? I’m still pining for a nice Digital Camera…. 28. What was your favorite film of this year? BATMAN! 29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 29. Had a nice dinner @ T.G.I. Fridays in Michigan with the MI Fam. 30. What one thing made your year immeasurably more satisfying? DVDs, Books, & Video Games 31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? In private I’m a T-Shirt and Black Jeans all the way. In public, I just try not to look like a hobo next to my gorgeous wife. 32. What kept you sane? Raven & Lucifer 33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? In terms of pure fancy, I would say Jennifer Connelly still gets the nod. However, Naomi Watts is climbing the charts… 34. What political issue stirred you the most? The Saint Paul Mayoral race. I also continue to be peeved about the smoking bans…. 35. Who did you miss? Pretty much all of my family has abandoned me for warmer climes. I also miss our goth cohort Leanna. 36. Who was the best new person you met? It’s a tie…Benq and Eduardo 37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: You can’t control everything. Sometimes all you can do is give it your all and hope for the best. |
