So why is it, that when we are so busy that we barely have time to blink, that we are literally brimming with events in our lives to talk about, that we get so bogged down that even though every day we say “Today I’m going to post!”, it never comes to fruition?

Eh. Life Sucks, get a helmet.

So, as I just alluded to, Raven and I are super-size-me busy. So I will just post a couple of things that are rattling around in my head and then we’ll see about resuming our normal broadcast schedule.

So, Raven has already mentioned that we went to Ground Zero. That was fun. It reminded me a lot of City Club, but it doesn’t quite boast the hours of that establishment. It was a bummer to have to leave at 2am. I don’t understand why after Minnesota finally gets some of its act together in terms of nightlife by extending bar close to 2am, that the places that were normally open after bar close have not followed suit and extended their hours to coincide…. <grr>

Also, Raven & I went to Best Buy on Monday night so that we could buy Doom 3 at 12:01am! We both ended up getting free Doom 3 T-shirts and I even managed to answer a trivia question correctly, scoring a 93X T-shirt and a pass to a preview of AvP. So, all-in-all, it was a pretty sweet deal.

So, you’re basically all caught up. Well, maybe not, but I think that’s enough for today….

Oh yeah, read on if you want to hear my complaints about the Taste of Minnesota.

Ok, so, the Taste of Minnesota used to be pretty groovy. It was at the State Capitol. It was fun, and essentially free. You paid $5 for 10 tickets, and $1 from each sheet went to the cost of the event.

Now, it’s on Harriet Island, which is cool and all, but I just don’t think it fits as well. When you’re at the Capitol, it’s more of an Urban Festival. At Harriet Island, it’s just like going to a not very well laid out fair. A fair that suddenly seems ridiculously expensive. I know things generally increase in cost, but 12 tickets for a beer? And there was nothing there that was free. Even the kids area was for paying customers only.

I think the biggest disappointment for me is the fireworks. At the Capitol, you felt right beneath them, and the capitol dome was lit with each shell, it’s pretty over the river, but it’s just not the same.

Finally, traffic sucks. They close off one of the 3 bridges to/from downtown, and everything just grinds to a halt. It doesn’t sound like they have any intention of even considering moving back to the Capitol, but I sure do miss the good-ole-days.
