Lofty Thoughts…
May 17, 2004Raven & I went for a stroll on Sunday, and we happened upon a few Open Houses that we wish we could expunge from our brains. 505 Selby Ave #14 was the one that most caught my eye. There was another one across the street that Raven liked just a little bit more. (We imagine the cats would love it.) It had a spiral staircase and a very open floor plan, with some exposed brick to boot. Then I had to go and notice this listing in Marina City in Chicago. Dangit! We’re not ready to move yet!
<grumble>
To take my mind off housing wants, I decided to give Unconscious Mutterings a go this week…

- Protection:: Shelter
- Girl Scout:: C is for Cookie, that’s good enough for me!
- Salsa:: Salsa Shark. We’re gonna need a bigger boat!

I learned along time ago to not visit open houses because then I want to buy. And since I generally can not afford those places without a significant adjustment to my finances, I feel bad for not being able to get what I want.
But, Kat and I might start looking for places soon. We are in early discussions about moving closer to our jobs. Our daily commute to work is where we spend the most time in the car. Reducing this commute would reduce the frustrations in our lives.

I hope to be where you are at in a year from now…but til then I’ll enjoy viewing the homes you looked at…
Aside from the “orange” cupboards in the kitchen the one on Selby Ave looked pretty good!
