Bats on the Brain

March 8, 2005

Hehe…sweet. Batman in IMAX!

Of course, I’ve been burned on this kind of thing before. Matrix Revolutions was supposed to have been released simultaneously in IMAX as well…but the big Movie Theatre chains pressured the distributors into dropping that idea. Couldn’t stand the “competition”.

If you’ve never seen a film in IMAX, I’d highly recommend it. The picture is awesome, as you’d expect, but I actually thought the sound was stellar as well. There were some ambient sounds in Revolutions that I didn’t notice the first time I’d seen it.
In other new, I’m onto Dark Tower V, and so far I’m really digging it. (And please, no comments about how the series ends…I’ve already overheard snippets of conversation about it and I have no desire to know anything about it!)

On the way home tonight I am going to pickup Friends Season Nine and Pre-Order The Matrix Online. Something for Raven and something for me. I don’t know what I’m going to do after Season 10 comes out. I’ll have to start buying her some other series or something!

…almost there…

December 16, 2004

You are .mpg You live life like it was a movie. Constantly in motion, you bring pleasure to many, but are often hidden away.
Which File Extension are You?

OK. I think I’m a little less stressed than the last time I posted. I still have a boat loat of work to do for school, but I actually think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

There hasn’t really been time for much else besides my studies… I did get to go see Blade Trinity on Wednesday. It was a kinda weird work thing. Free Lunch and a Movie. It was a little weird to see a movie at 12:30 and then be free for the afternoon. Of course, I had some homework and a Financial Aid Exit Interview to attend to, so the enjoyment of said free time was slight.

And yeah, school is expensive. They had a summary of every loan I’ve take out for Brown, including my PC-LAN Certificate loans from 1996!

So yeah, my brain is about $55,776 in the hole.

Three tomatoes are walking down the street…

Yeah. Well, the picture above is one of Raven & I on Halloween at Market Bar-B-Q in Minneapolis. She was a showgirl. I was some kind of Batman-esque guy in a fetishy getup©. We had a pretty good time hanging out there Oct 31st. Raven even snagged 3rd place in the costume contest!

Raven Party '04

This photo is from what I’ve dubbed Raven Party ’04. From left to right, that’s me as Silent Bob, Tanja as Catwoman, Jewbakka as the Big Bad Wolf, Lloyd as a Greek God, Raven, & No Name Slob as William "Bill" Blake from Dead Man. NQYTD, who is not in the picture, was a quite convincing Shaun of the Dead.

Speaking of my blogging brethren, (and sistren) the four of us went to see the Blogumentary World Premiere. Raven & I also got to meet Equipose and we all had dinner. The Film was excellent. I’m sure that after I get my DVD copy I can offer up some actual constructive criticism, but after only one viewing I just think it was good. Of course, I also need to find $25 to donate to the relief fund to get that DVD….

Ummm. Oh yeah. The Diabetes Walk was yesterday. Tanja, Raven, Travesty & his S.O. and I got about $1200 in donations altogether. Please feel free to Donate now if you weren’t able to previously. <hint><hint>

Phew! I’m a little worn down. days to go…

If I’d known you were coming…

April 19, 2004

Wow! I am more than a little taken aback at being chosen Minnesota Blog of the Day. I knew something was up when my hits quintupled that day. I do find it somewhat vexing that people seem to get the impression that I am Jack. Do you not see the signature on every post? Have ya never looked at my profile? Have you not seen the film?!?! Oh well, I’m still crazy honored and excited about it. Especially since I’m in pretty good company, since Picklejuice & Space Waitress Gate A have also been recipients of this distinction, and I likes them.

I’ve noticed that some of the blogs I am Blogrolling are a bit light on the posting, (something that we are never guilty of here at jackswastedlife), so I have fleshed it out a bit more. We shall see how long this fleshiness continues, as I do not feel comfortable linking to a site unless I actively go there myself. Sort of a “GSeven’s Stamp of Approval”.

Raven & I were not able to make it to see Akira as we had originally intended, because Friday she was not well and Saturday I was being an
