Big shock for y’all I’m sure.
I’m in sort of a funk lately, so I apologize for the empty screen real estate. I think I expected a little more to have coincided with my graduation, but just about everything is the same. I have more free time technically, but it doesn’t feel like it.
Work is playing a big part in my being in the doldrums. I keep working more and more and yet I’m getting nothing back. Well, I’m getting paid and all, but even that isn’t necessarily on an equitable basis right now.
I have been able to play a little more PC games, but that hardly feels like an accomplishment. I dunno. I’m just getting really fed up of biding my time. Hopefully something will start making sense soon.
COMING SOON TO A BLOG NEAR YOU:
- The tale of IKEA shoppin’
- Upcoming films that are getting me all worked up
- More thrilling exciting things TBD
BTW, I really had no idea on the Medallion this year. It seems to work that way, last year I was literally a few feet away, this year I never even got out to a park. The explanations for this year’s clues are below.
Now if only there were a handy set of explanations for what I should do now….

Sometimes being a perfectionist isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
OK, so I have literally spent weeks trying to finish some stupid new years meme. It’s included in the extended text of this entry… but it’s not finished! Nor will it be! I am moving on!
Speaking of, I have gotten to Wizard and Glass, so at least one of my quasi-resolutions is on track! I’m also pretty damn pumped about my new cellphone! As you probably noticed on the right-hand side of this here browser window is my flickr badge. I’ll try to keep it interesting.
Other than that not much is happening but it is again Winter Carnival time so please lemme know what you think of the following clues!
Today's Clue -- January 26, 2005
The siren calls, the giant falls
'Tween field generals the poet sings
That down beyond the once blue pond
Is treasure fit for kings
Clue #3 -- January 25
Be safe and we pledge, neither cliff nor water's edge
Figures in your hunting pursuit
What's that you hear? Please, have no fear
It was there before we moved in
Clue #2 -- January 24
Snow we have missed much, this not very white Christmas
But the ice has come to stay
The water's quite frozen at this park we have chosen
Along its paths you may while time away
Clue #1 -- January 23
The old curmudgeon was in high dudgeon
When a critter ran off with the loot
But this year to be credible, we've made it inedible
And stuck it in a park

Wow. I can hardly believe it’s 2005. I’m not big on New Year’s Resolutions but while debating whether or not to make any I certainly came up with quite a list of goals so I guess I’ll share…
I have been gaining a little bit in the midsection and it does not please me. I don’t know whether to blame stress or being less active or getting old but I’m not gonna take it anymore!
- Read the remainder of the Dark Tower Series before the next Harry Potter book is released
I’m a huge fan of the Dark Tower series and can’t believe that I haven’t finished them by now. (I did start re-reading the series when the revised edition of Gunslinger came out…)
I’ve had dental issues since I was a wee-un. This will be the year that is remedied.
I’ve been "managing" my diabetes via insulin injections since I was diagnosed with Type 1 about eight years ago. Pumps today are practically an artificial pancreas. I just have to wear it on my belt. And change its batteries.
That’s five tests. However, it’s all stuff I should really already know. Unfortunately, I’m the kind of person who feels the need to way over study.
- Be ready to move on 01-01-06
Raven & I have been considering relocating for some time. Unfortunately, there have been obstacles. The academic hurdle has been overcome. That leaves the financial and the general state of repairs of our condo. We may not be ready to pack our bags next January, but at the very least, I want to be able to.
- Reach 200 Posts by 01-01-06
Coincidentally, this is my 100th post. That doesn’t sound bad, except that I’ve been "blogging" for over 2 years! My goal is not to post every day, but to have more of a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. That still puts me at an ideal of ~150 posts a year.
So I guess I’ve got some work to do…

Take that in any form you’d like. You could be a DJ, you could paint, you could write, you could even code. Still, you hold whatever you do as Art. You are passionate, and you can also try too hard.

It is done. I have turned in all my work. I do not have to go back on Monday. I am free. Granted, that’s just my academic life, but a burden has been lifted.
Now, this holiday season has been quite a weird one. I’ve been largely pre-occupied with my studies so Christmas itself kinda snuck up on me. This is also the first year in over 20 that I haven’t gone out of town for Christmas. Usually the whole family goes up north. After I tricked Raven into our marriage, we’ve alternated locales between up north and the Michigan family. Even though we were abandoned by my family this year, it was in fact Michigan’s turn. Unfortunately, the scheduling gods were not kind to Raven, and we are unable to make our trek.
So, here we are. We stopped over at some relatives on my father’s side of the family whom we don’t usually get to see last night. Today, we basically decided to lounge about, open our presents, and watch DVDs. I’m particularly fond of Nightmare Before Christmas Jacket that Raven got me, the copy of The Dark Knight Strikes Again from the ‘rents, and my new U2 CD from my Aunt & cousins. The gifts that I am proudest of are the Marilyn Manson T-Shirt for Raven and the Nostromo for Kaiser.
As the year winds down, we’re looking forward to the New Year’s shindig thrown by NQTYD & No Name Slob. Beyond that, I think I’m just gonna take it easy for a while.
I think I still remember how.
